SOME TIPS TO LOOK AFTER YOUR TATTOO
(Please watch my video on aftercare below).

  • I will give you advice on the day, however this is incase you forget.

  • ALWAYS HAVE CLEAN HANDS WHEN TOUCHING YOUR TATTOO.

  • Take the dressing off after about an hour, wash with warm soapy water.

  • Gently dab dry with some kitchen towel, use this instead of your towel for the first 3 days.

  • The day after your tattoo, wash in the morning, dab dry with kitchen towel, air dry for 15 minutes then apply your aftercare cream. I would suggest coconut oil or Diablo vegan aftercare which I sell at the studio.

  • Do not use antibiotic cream unless an infection has occurred and you have been informed to do so by a doctor.

  • Moisturise 3-5 times a day, when you notice it’s a bit dry apply a small amount of cream and gently massage it in.

  • Keep it clean, but don’t over-clean.

  • Have clean bedding.

  • Don’t let your pets lick it…

  • If you work out just wash as soon as you can to stop the sweat sitting on it for too long.

  • Don’t soak it, no baths, swimming etc for 2 weeks.

  • Don’t expose it to sun in the first 2 weeks, once it is healed avoid it too if you want your tattoo to stay nice and fresh!

  • Healing times differ from person to person, from where you have it and the size and style, each one could heal differently.

  • Don’t itch it, gently slap it if you have to.

  • The tattoo will scab or at least there will be dry skin around the edges, it’s still healing.

  • If you need a touch up please let me know once it’s fully healed, ideally 3 weeks after. I will do one free touch up for you.

  • You might find your tattoo stains your bed sheets for the first few nights.

  • SIGNS OF INFECTION: Swelling and redness that increases around the wound. A severe burning and throbbing sensation around the site. Increased tenderness and increasingly painful to touch. An unusual discharge (yellow or green) with a bad smell.
